This numbers matching piece of history is just waiting for someone to come along and as the saying goes, put humpty-dumpty back together again. Taken apart years ago and a restoration started, it obviously was never finished.
The car was purchased by us to build a resto-rod with a custom tube-frame and late model running gear. It is our opinion that there are too many good pieces here and the car is intact so it warrants being restored to it's original state.
Besides the original numbers matching block, the original 4-speed T-10 transmission is also included and was rebuilt at the start of the restoration. The car had been repainted but appears to have been a Fawn/Fawn car or Almond Beige/Fawn. More research may determine exactly how it left the factory. 1962 did not have a trim tag to identify its original color configuration. Interior pieces included with the car are black.
The good (based on our review but we suggest the buyer confirm our findings):
Original Block - To insure it's integrity the block was tested by us. It was determined that it needed to be re-sleeved by our machinist to insure the new owner would not have problems after a lengthy and expensive restoration. The motor will need some parts that are readily available but the crank is good and included.

Could be better:
There is no documentation
As stated, the motor is apart and will need to be re-assembled.
The original numbers matching frame needs to be repaired or replaced. The car was hit in the front sometime in it's 45 year history and there is evidence of damage. We can assist with a replacement frame although this frame appears to be worthy of being repaired. The sections that need repair are available from various vendors
The tunnel area will need some repair (possibly chopped up for an automatic transmission conversion) and one or two body mounts will need repair. The front end assembly will need just a little finishing work. Easy for a "Corvette Shop". We can also provide the restoration service. Both mechanical and bodywork and paint. This can be discussed and arranged prior to purchase.
Some of the items known to be missing (and there may be more but most are available), Harmonic Balancer, Waterpump, Cam Shaft, Air Cleaner, Radio, and Dash Pad (would be replaced anyway).
As with any classic car restoration, all the chrome, stainless, and other trim pieces as well as many of the parts included with the car will obviously need some level of restoration work.
The original 15x5.5" wheels (and tires) were missing but are available.
