Bill and Ashley's Mallett Modifified 98
This is the custom painted hood going on Bill and Ashley's Supercharged baby. The artwork was done by JB Graphix. If you would like a one-off custom hood (or entire car) that is creatively unique and will set your car apart from the rest, give us a call.

This 98 Coupe had a number of modifications already done by Mallett Performance. To take it to the next level we are installing a Vortech Supercharger kit, 60lb injectors, Racetronix Fuel Pump, Gauges, Powdecoated Calipers and Brackets, and computer tuning. It will definately rock when done!

The Vortech Supercharger Kit from A & A Corvette, like most Centrifugal supercharger kits, requires several modifications to be made to the car. The first is the crankshaft needs to be pinned. GM did not install a keyway on the crankshaft and under the extra belt stress that a supercharger creates the harmonic balancer can loosen and in some cases spin off. We drill the crank and balancer and install a pin to prevent the balancer from spinning on the crank.
The stock injectors are replaced with 60lb injectors. This along with the hi-volume fuel pump will insure that under boost conditions that the air/fuel ratio will not run lean and cause detonation/damage.
Then the radiator and fan need to be lowered to allow the intake hoses to pass over the top while still clearing the hood. An airbox is built from the sheet metal provided in the kit to force all air through the intercooler and radiator.
The supercharger requires an oil feed and return to supply a continuous feed of fresh oil to it. The feed line it tapped into an oil passage in the side of the block and for the return a hole is drilled and tapped into the bottom oil pan.
The AIR pump must be moved from the radiator support to inside of the front inner fender (or removed). This is necessary to make room for the intercooler hoses.
The intercooler and lower hose install. The blowoff valve (BOV) is installed in the area inside the lefthand front bumper where the airpump was.
The stock fuel-pump is removed and a high-volume pump is installed in its place.
After completing the install the car is computer tuned and tested. Boost and Fuel Pressure gauges were installed to monitor additional vital signs.
and off goes another happy customer!
