Steve's 03 Anniversary Z06
Besides plugs, wires, thermostat, Hurst Shifter and other work already done Steve decided it was time to add to the already neck snapping torque. A supercharger, cam, headers, free-flow cats, and x-pipe along with computer tuning are in process. As you can see from the picture below there are a number of components that make up the complete system.
It's amazing how much has to be taken apart to install a camshaft. Will be well worth the effort though. With cam, headers/cats, and Supercharger this should all make for a fun ride.
Camshaft Installed, Crank Pinned, Headers Installed, Oil lines for blower installed, vacuum lines for Blow-off Valve, Boost-a-pump, and Boost gauges installed, and starting to look like a Corvette Engine again.
Headers are well-worth the effort but are a tight fit.
Clean up the brakes and new Rotors. Brakes are a good thing!
Boost-a-pump installation. Controls voltage to the fuel pump to increase pressure under boost
Blower install requires the installation of the blower itself, bracket with specially designed pulleys, drive belt, hoses, Blow-off/Anti-surge valve and Intercooler. The fact that it all fits (with a little rearranging) in front of the engine along with everything else is incredible.
Intercooler install. The subframe needs to be clearanced in a couple spots to make way for the hose from the blower to intercooler.
Almost ready to let-er-rip.
A click of the key and watch-out. All back together and purring like a kitten.
This is what the completed install looks like sitting on an engine stand..
more to come....
